About my Silverado
I just purchased this Silverado a couple months ago in February. As of now i have completed a list of mod's to my truck but there is not much available yet considering its a 2009. I started off by tinting all my windows, keeping the sun out of my ride. I gave the truck some style by adding a billet grill.
Cant look good without a good sound system, so i decided to replace all speakers in my truck. I installed INFINITY component system in the front and 6-1/2" rear door speakers. For bass i went with the best...JL AUDIO. I wanted to install 2-12" w3vs however the rear seat did not provide enough room. I was pretty upset about that so i had to go with something smaller 2-12" w1v2. I did not want to replace my stock stereo due to the fact its already perfectly hooked up with my OnStar, Bluetooth, and controls on my steering wheel. Its a good combination it sounds amazing.
Next I replaced the stock exhaust with 3" Flowmaster 40 series cat back exhaust. It really gave it that powerful aggressive sound i was looking for. Its loud when it needs to be and low enough to stay out of the inside of my truck so it worked out great!
The stock suspension just wasn't cutting it for me. I decided to go with a 3" leveling kit. This brought up the front of the truck giving it a lifted look while keeping the truck level.
I couldnt ride in a lifted truck with stock wheels. So the next thing i did was replace those stock tires. The truck came with stock 20" wheels which are decent looking for "stock". Since i havent seen anyone that has the same wheels as me i decided to keep them. I put on some 33" x 12.5 TOYO Open Country M/T.
After the lift and tire change the truck did drive a little different. So continuing my modifications and upgrades i replaced the stock gears in my rear end and put in some 4.10's. The gear change really helped it a lot and drives much better now.
In the near future i plan to replace my air filter with a Cold Air Intake and a high performance MAF sensor. I'm also going to install a Superchip flshpaq and im still thinking about a throttle body. None of these upgrades are available for my truck yet so im on stand by with these last couple mod's.
